Jim Miller thinks nuclear proliferation in the Middle east is inevitable. He quotes Prince Turki al-Faisal, a former Saudi intelligence chief and ambassador to Washington:

We cannot live in a situation where Iran has nuclear weapons and we don’t. It’s as simple as that,” the official said.  “If Iran develops a nuclear weapon, that will be unacceptable to us and we will have to follow suit.

How could Saudi Arabia rapidly become a nuclear power? It could look to Russia and China, but they are allied with Iran. It could look to the US, but its President is clueless. It could look to a country that is threatened by Iran and its allies, but could help. That country is Israel. Don’t be surprised if it happens.
