On 9/12/2009, around 1.2 million people flooded into Washington to demonstrate their opposition to the direction President Obama was taking the country. While people came in from all over the country, a large percentage would have been locals, i.e. Virginians, who drove in or rode the Metro to the mall. The anger at big spending, high taxing Washington politicians was obvious from the signs and the speeches.

The election result in Virginia reflects the passion we saw in DC on 9/12.
