Palin, Thompson, Santorum and Armey won. Pawlenty, Huckabee, Romney and Gingrich lost. The first group is listening to the people. The second is still stuck in Washington mode.

Palin was not the first to endorse Hoffman but she was the first “contending” Republican to do so. This will stand her in good stead should she go for the nomination in 2012. But there is a bigger lesson here. The GOP has learned that putting up RINOs as candidates risks the people putting up alternatives who can gain national support with the speed of a Facebook post.
